Women's Forum

The Foley Hoag Women’s Forum aims to recruit, cultivate, retain and empower women lawyers at the firm through workshops, formal and informal mentoring, internal and external events and sponsorships.

Every lawyer at Foley Hoag has an opportunity to rise as high as their ability and work ethic can take them. The Women’s Forum adds to the essential support and guidance from accomplished peers, mentors and sponsors to help every woman attorney realize her potential.


The firm is proud to support and host many formal and informal events organized for women across industries, and the Forum ensures that Foley Hoag’s women attorneys are active participants at these events. Such events are produced in collaboration with the Mass Technology Leadership Council (TLC), MosiacHUB, the Massachusetts Women’s Bar Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel Northeast Chapter and the Museum of Fine Arts to name a few

Awards and Recognitions

We are committed to increasing diversity representation at all levels across the firm. We are proactively working to enhance our ability to foster a climate of inclusion and belonging within our firm, while better serving our clients' needs. The following are just a few of the recognitions the Women’s Forum is most proud of achieving.

  • The firm has achieved Mansfield Certified status in 2021 after completing the yearlong Mansfield Rule 4.0 Certification program. Now entering its fifth year, the Mansfield Rule has become the standard by which law firms track and measure that they have affirmatively considered at least 30% percent women, lawyers from underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, lawyers with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ lawyers for top leadership roles, senior-level lateral hiring, promotions into the equity partnership and participation in client pitch meetings.
  • Yale Law Women (YLW) named Foley Hoag a top firm for Part-Time Options in its 2021 Top Firms for Gender Equity & Family Friendliness Report. The firm was also previously named a top firm for parental and caregiver leave in YLW's 2020 report, and was listed among its Top 10 Family Friendly Firms in the legal industry in 2016. Results are determined by data collected from firm policies relating to part-time and flex-time, parental/family leaves and accommodations, gender equity, billing requirements, professional development and pro bono.
  • Foley Hoag received a 2020 Tipping the Scales Award from the Diversity and Flexibility Alliance in recognition of dedication to diversity and inclusion within the firm’s partnership.
  • Foley Hoag was honored as part of the COVID Relief Coalition at the Boston Bar Association's 2020 Beacon Awards for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, receiving the organization's Empowerment Award.
