Foley Hoag advises Engie on the sale of 70 sites in France

Foley Hoag Paris’ Environmental Law team of has once again assisted the ENGIE Group, on the environmental law aspects of the sale of a portfolio of 70 sites in mainland France to a trio of real estate developers: Icade Promotion, Brownfields and Aire Nouvelle.

The third-party applicant procedure (“pocédure du tiers demandeur”) was once again central to this transaction, as the land will have to be subject to a substitution order before being converted to accommodate mixed real estate programs. This agreement fully contributes to the objective of zero net artificialization (ZAN) of the territories concerned.
