Theresa Canzoneri is a Senior Trademark Paralegal in Foley Hoag’s Intellectual Property Department. Theresa’s practice covers all aspects of trademark and copyright administration on a global basis, including trademark prosecution, copyright registration, customs recordals, vigilance, global brand protection and collaboration on IP due diligence projects for corporate transactions. She works closely with the firm's attorneys, clients and foreign counsel to manage all aspects of clients’ worldwide portfolios, including substantive and procedural trademark and copyright matters, assisting with contentious matters and assessing brand protection needs.

Theresa has extensive experience running in-house clearance searches to assist firm clients with selecting a strong mark and clearing marks for use and registration. In addition, she liaises between Foley Hoag attorneys and clients in the development and execution of filing strategies, and prepares legal documents for assignments, petitions, office action responses and statements of use. Theresa monitors deadlines for worldwide trademarks, providing appropriate notice and guidance to meet renewal requirements and deadlines.
Theresa also has broad experience in global filing strategies, including knowledge concerning specific requirements for various trademark offices worldwide. In connection with these efforts, she has developed strong relationships with foreign counsel. Theresa regularly works with foreign counsel to obtain international copyright registrations and customs recordals to broaden and strengthen firm clients' brands globally. She also works closely with Foley Hoag attorneys and foreign counsel on domestic and international opposition and cancellation proceedings, as well as other contentious matters involving trademarks and copyrights.
