As an immigration partner, Amy Haberman helps domestic and multinational corporate clients address their employment-based immigration needs. Through her work in Foley Hoag's Immigration practice, Amy provides companies with round-the-clock responsiveness to matters involving the recruitment and transfer of foreign national executives and other employees.

She works in industries ranging from software and technology to pharmaceuticals to manufacturing. Amy's clients appreciate her personal attention and practical advice when advising on potential foreign-born job applicants and conducting trainings on application and compliance best practices.

Amy advises clients on the immigration consequences of mergers and acquisitions, the I-9 process, and compliance with Department of Labor statutory and regulatory recordkeeping requirements. She helps them with managing the process of moving foreign student candidates into long-term work authorization opportunities. Amy also counsels individual clients on family based immigration matters, including obtaining permanent resident status and citizenship.

Amy has significant experience counseling start-up companies on strategies for obtaining approvals for foreign workers important to their businesses’ growth. She regularly speaks on immigration law matters to entrepreneurs at the New York University Startup School.

  • Represented a premier crowdfunding platform company in its sponsorship of foreign nationals for creative positions
