Meredith Haviland concentrates her corporate practice on representing private investment funds and investment advisers in all matters, including formation, investments, acquisitions, divestitures and regulatory matters. Meredith also has significant expertise advising investment funds and corporates in respect of real asset transactions, with a particular focus on international forestry transactions.
On the fund formation and regulatory side, Meredith works with private fund managers in connection with the formation and launch of private equity, venture capital and hedge funds. She also advises investment advisers and private fund managers in respect of the U.S. regulatory regime applicable to such advisers and managers, including the U.S. Investment Advisers Act and CFTC matters. She has particular expertise advising non-U.S. managers about compliance with the U.S. regulatory regime.
On the transaction side, Meredith regularly advises both private equity investors and corporates in connection with strategic business transactions, including acquisitions and divestitures in the real asset space. In addition to her extensive experience with M&A transactions, Meredith has significant expertise with cross-border structuring matters. She also regularly assists venture capital investors in connection with their financings, as well as provides guidance upon exit.
Meredith currently serves as Chair of the firm’s Hiring Committee.
