Stuart Knight has experience with complex commercial and intellectual property litigation and dispute resolution. Stuart has represented life sciences, health sector and technology clients in noteworthy complex commercial and patent infringement cases in both the U.S. and U.K., while at multi-national law firms in London, New York and Boston. His intellectual property experience includes patent litigation covering a broad range of fields, including sequencing, bioinformatics, polymer chemistry, medical devices, telecommunications, IT and semiconductors. Stuart has also represented clients in multiple arbitration disputes.

Representative Experience

  • Represented Roche in district court (Delaware) patent litigation against competitor’s insulin delivery system.
  • Defended a global technology company in district court patent litigation (EDTX) against an NPE’s alleged infringement of standard essential patents and worldwide FRAND damages claim.
  • Defended TSMC in district court (WDTX) patent litigation against alleged infringement by semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Represented Illumina before the UK High Court in patent litigation concerning sequencing technologies.
  • Defended Reckitt Benckiser in UK High Court patent litigation in respect of competitor’s synthetic polyisoprene patent.
  • Defended Sony before the UK High Court and Court of Appeal in respect of validity and infringement of an NPE’s communications technology patent.
  • Defended Huawei in extensive patent litigation before the UK High Court and Court of Appeal relating to an NPE’s portfolio of standard essential patents.
  • Represented a multinational consumer goods company in respect of cease and desist letters concerning trademark, patent and design infringement.
  • Represented pro bono client in a petition for clemency.
  • Represented pro bono clients (a group of photographers) in a copyright license dispute against a large publishing house.
