Meredith Parkinson is an associate in the firm’s Business Department. Her practice focuses on advising public and private companies in corporate finance and bank lending. Meredith also helps advise clients on general corporate and commercial matters and has experience with mergers and acquisitions and leveraged buyouts.  

Meredith has extensive experience advising loan agents and trustees in the refinancing and payoff of secured debt as well as representing clients in all aspects of restructuring transactions, including both sellers and purchasers in 363 asset sales, DIP financings, plans of reorganization, and bankruptcy litigation and appeals. Meredith also has experience working with publicly traded and private real estate investment trusts in connection with real estate financings, securitizations, repurchase agreements, and other secured lending arrangements.

Prior to joining Foley Hoag, Meredith spent seven years as an associate in the business restructuring department of an international law firm and worked out of the New York and Boston offices.

Representative Experience

  • Represented Organogenesis Inc. in its $100 million senior secured term loan and revolving credit facilities.
  • Represented Sensata Technologies in the refinancing and amendment of syndicated senior secured revolving credit facility.
  • Represented private equity firm in debt financing for leveraged buyout of technology company.
  • Represented an ad hoc committee of noteholders of GenOn Energy, Inc. and GenOn Americas Generation, LLC, wholesale power generation subsidiaries of NRG Energy, Inc., in the negotiation and filing of a pre-arranged chapter 11 case to restructure approximately $2.5 billion of unsecured notes.
  • Represented investment managers in litigation arising from residential mortgage-backed securities trusts in state and federal court.
  • Represented an ad hoc committee of secured noteholders of Energy Future Intermediate Holdings, LLC in its chapter 11 case in the District of Delaware, one of the largest bankruptcy cases ever filed.
  • Contributed to Supreme Court amicus brief on behalf of grid engineers in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission v. Electric Power Supply Association, et al.
  • Represented Doral Financial Corporation, a former bank holding company, in its chapter 11 case in the Southern District of New York, including in various 363 auctions.
  • Represented Gawker Media LLC, an online media company, in its chapter 11 case in the Southern District of New York.
  • Represented hedge funds in the purchase and sale of billions of dollars in claims against large debtors, including American Airlines, MF Global, and Lehman Brothers entities worldwide.
