Frédéric Scanvic is a partner in Foley Hoag's Paris office. Frédéric’s practice is public law including administrative, constitutional and european law. In that field he has a broad experience in energy and environmental law sectors, and works on both advisory and litigious matters in these fields.
Previously, Frédéric held positions at the French Constitutional Court and French Administrative Supreme Court. He also held other positions in the public sector, first as cabinet director in the Ministry of Overseas Departments and Communes, and then as deputy managing director of the Paris regional governmental entity (Région Ile-de-France). In that capacity, Frédéric supervised, among other things, public contracts and tender offers. He also worked as a managing director at the Ministry of Culture, where he supervised the legal department and was responsible for the development of a legal framework for intellectual property and copyright law in France. In addition, Frédéric worked for the French steelmaker, Arcelor, where he handled matters involving competition law.
