Overview

Foley Hoag’s Paris office handles corporate M&A matters. The Corporate M&A practice, which is headed by Frédéric Cohen, handles all types of equity capital and external growth transactions, most often in an international setting.ar

The Corporate M&A team assists French and foreign clients in the full range of growth, equity investment, partnership, joint venture and restructuring transactions that they undertake, both domestically and across borders. It also acts in matters involving distressed companies, particularly in asset takeover operations.

Foley Hoag Paris’ M&A lawyers work in close synergy with their colleagues in the firm’s US offices (who are especially active in the high-tech and biotech sectors), as well as with other Paris-based teams, particularly in the fields of intellectual property, new technologies and environmental law. They have developed particular know-how for advising both international companies and investors in their transactions in France, and French clients in their transactions with foreign parties.

Foley Hoag's team is known for its pragmatic approach, establishing and coordinating multidisciplinary task forces when appropriate to tackle issues that may arise in complex operations in an efficient and consistent manner. It is a driving force in finding solutions to enable its clients to achieve their economic objectives and in shaping a dialogue with stakeholders to ensure that they buy into the solutions adopted.
