Larry Martin will be speaking at the 37th Annual Conference of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Military Law and Operations (MILOPS), a part of a keynote panel dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of the 2016 Unanimous, Final and Binding South China Sea Arbitral Tribunal Award.
Martin was part of the Foley Hoag team that achieved a historic victory for the Philippines in the South China Sea in 2016, when an international arbitral tribunal unanimously upheld the Philippines’ claims in the much-watched arbitration against China.The Tribunal rejected China’s claim to “historic rights” in the maritime areas encompassed by its so-called “nine-dashed line” as inconsistent with the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea.
