Partner David G. Lazarus commented in
Law360 on a new federal anti-fraud task force established by President Trump designed to identify and eliminate fraud in state-administered federally funded programs for medical care, housing, food and more.
Lazarus indicated that the task force could lead to an increase in activity in the False Claims Act space, “which has already been incredibly busy and growing."
However, he questioned the purpose of establishing the new division and noted the administration’s already aggressive stance towards anti-fraud investigations: "It's not clear to me what value comes from this new division, other than that it's being set up to be much more responsive to the highest levels of the executive branch."
