Foley Hoag LLP announces that partner Seth D. Jaffe has been named a 2013 "Lawyer of the Year" by Best Lawyers.
Jaffe was named the Best Lawyers’ 2013 Boston Litigation - Environmental "Lawyer of the Year." He serves as Chair of Foley Hoag's Administrative Law Department and Coordinator of the Environmental Practice Group, and works on a wide range of environmental law issues, representing clients in the permitting/licensing of new facilities and offering ongoing guidance on permitting and enforcement matters under federal and state Clean Air Acts, Clean Water Acts, RCRA and TSCA. Jaffe was previously named a Best Lawyers Boston - Environmental "Lawyer of the Year" in 2010.
Best Lawyers began designating “Lawyers of the Year” in the U.S. in high-profile legal practice areas in 2009. Only a single lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area is honored as a “Lawyer of the Year,” making this accolade particularly significant. Lawyers being honored as a “Lawyer of the Year” are selected based on voting averages received during exhaustive peer-review assessments conducted by Best Lawyers with thousands of lawyers each year. Receiving this designation reflects the high level of respect a lawyer has earned among other leading lawyers in the same communities and practice areas for their abilities, professionalism and integrity.
Best Lawyers is known as the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession. The 2013 edition - which lists 27 Foley Hoag attorneys - recognizes lawyers in 128 practice areas, covering all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
