September 26, 2013

Amy Lehr, an associate in Foley Hoag LLP’s Corporate Social Responsibility practice in the Washington, D.C. office, has been selected as a panelist at the 2013 Compliance & Ethics Institute, being held October 6-9 at the Washington Hilton. The panel, entitled “Compliance & Conflict Minerals: Lessons Learned,” will provide an overview of lessons learned in advising companies on compliance and discuss several particularly challenging aspects of the this section of the Dodd Frank Act, including non-compliance with certification requests and the need to develop scalable, cost-effective and due diligence processes.

Panel discussion topics will include leading practices on evaluating your supply chain and reporting requirement, and identifying best practices and common pitfalls in adhering to the compliance and conflict minerals rules.

Joining Lehr as a co-panelist is Barbara H. Kipp, a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Through her practice, Lehr provides advice to major multinational corporations on best practices with regard to human rights, labor rights and indigenous rights issues, as well as on stakeholder relations with local communities, host governments, security providers and non-governmental organizations.

The Compliance & Ethics Institute panel featuring Lehr and Kipp will take place Monday, October 7, 2013 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
