Foley Hoag Attorney Tafadzwa Pasipanodya to Speak on Human Rights in the Business World at Annual Bernstein Institute Conference

Foley Hoag LLP Attorney Tafadzwa Pasipanodya will be a featured speaker at the first annual Bernstein Institute Conference at NYU School of Law on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in New York.

Her session, "Emerging Voices: A Conversation with the Next Generation," is a discussion with Michael Posner, co-director of the NYU Center for Business and Human Rights and former Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor; Trevor Morrison, the Dean of NYU Law School; and NYU Law School alumni considered to be "the newest generation of NYU School of Law human rights leaders."

Pasipanodya is a member of the firm's International Litigation & Arbitration and Corporate Social Responsibility practice groups. Her remarks at the conference will center on human rights in the business world, drawing from her experience representing sovereign states in investment arbitration disputes involving mining and natural resources. She will also provide insights from her collaboration on human rights issues with states, mining companies, and NGOs.

The new Robert L. Bernstein Institute for Human Rights is a research center that promotes cutting-edge scholarship, advocacy, and education on human rights issues in the US and abroad. The Institute seeks to deepen engagement between scholars and those beyond academia on a wide variety of human rights issues, from Internet freedom and poverty to refugee rights and armed conflict. The inaugural conference will examine human rights responses to inequality.
