Foley Hoag Partner Daniel Schimmel to Speak at Night of Law Event in Paris

Foley Hoag partner Daniel Schimmel will participate in a panel discussion, “Paris' Response to International Business Disputes,” on October 4 in Paris as part of the Night of Law 2018 event being held in various venues throughout France.

The goal of the Night of Law events is to hold conferences and round table discussions on a variety of legal topics in Parliament, courts, universities and a host of other public venues throughout France. 

Schimmel's panel, taking place at the Paris Commercial Court, will focus on the English-speaking business Chambers the French Government recently created. Prominent co- speakers will participate, including Guy Canivet, former Chief Justice of France; François Ancel, President of the International Chamber of the Paris Court of Appeal; Philippe Bernard, President of the International Chamber in the Paris Commercial Court; AFJE chair Stéphanie Fougou; Marie-Aimée Peyron, head of the Paris Bar Association; Matthias Fekl, former French Minister of the Interior and former Trade Minister; and Didier Kling, chair of the Paris Chamber of Commerce. 

Schimmel leads the International Arbitration & Litigation Practice of Foley Hoag’s New York office. He represents clients, including major French and other European groups in international commercial litigation in the United States and international corruption investigations. Schimmel has served as Chair, Sole Arbitrator, Co-Arbitrator, and counsel in international arbitrations arising from a broad range of contracts and transactions.
