Foley Hoag LLP and four of its partners have been recognized in the 2019 edition of Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine’s “Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Professionals” guide, naming the best-in-class patent prosecution, licensing and litigation practitioners and firms across the globe.
IAM commended Foley Hoag on its “deep knowledge of the life sciences industry” and “its well-rounded and technically accomplished team on behalf of a colourful catalogue of established and emerging pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and healthcare companies.”
The following Foley Hoag partners were also recognized for excellence in the industry:
Both Donald Ware and Barbara Fiacco ranked in the Silver category, and were described as “go-to lawyers when litigation looms.” “Distinguished by his combination of trial experience and Food and Drug Administration regulatory knowledge,” Ware is also hailed as “a great captain of the litigation practice;” Fiacco is acknowledged for “mounting the sturdiest defences for drug companies in high-stakes disputes.”
Dana Gordon was described as “the talk of the town” and a “brilliant scientist,” who “understands the finer points of patent strategy.”
Deemed “the ensemble’s most experienced high-tech battler,” Philip Swain ranked in the Bronze category.
The annual IAM Patent 1000 guide is compiled following an extensive research process conducted over a five month-period. Individuals qualify for a listing when they receive sufficient positive feedback from peers and clients with knowledge of their practice and the market within which they operate. Firms qualify for a listing on the basis of their depth of expertise, market presence and the level of work on which they are typically engaged.
