Foley Hoag Represents Prime Impact Fund in Innovative Catalytic Capital Fund for Climate Tech

June 18, 2020

Foley Hoag LLP represented Prime Coalition in forming Prime Impact Fund, an innovative pooled vehicle aggregating philanthropic and mission-related capital  to support breakthrough climate tech start-ups, and closing on approximately $50 million in capital commitments. The fund expects to support approximately 15 transformative climate ventures unlikely to be financed at the earliest stages were it not for Prime Impact Fund.

Prime Impact Fund is an initiative of Prime Coalition, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit addressing critical funding gaps for climate solutions which Foley Hoag has supported since inception. Prime Coalition partners with mission-aligned investors to support extraordinary companies that combat climate change, have a high likelihood of achieving commercial success, and would otherwise have a difficult time raising adequate financial support to scale. By drawing on catalytic capital from impact-focused investors, Prime Coalition and Prime Impact Fund partner with entrepreneurs at the earliest stages, working side-by-side with portfolio company CEOs to hone strategy, grow strong teams, and build investor syndicates.

Foley Hoag partners Mark Barnett and Meredith Haviland, associates Chasse Osborn and Ayah Zaidi, and other Foley Hoag attorneys represented Prime in formation of the Prime Impact Funds and the closing of the transactions.
