Foley Hoag LLP has been named a top firm for parental and caregiver leave by Yale Law Women (YLW) in its 15th annual Top Firms for Gender Equity & Family Friendliness 2020 Report. Foley Hoag was one of only three firms honored in this category.
“This recognition underscores the efforts Foley Hoag has taken to make the workplace more inclusive and equitable,” said Co-Managing Partner Jeffrey Collins. “In 2018, we expanded our parental leave from 16 to 18 weeks and offered this benefit regardless of whether one was the primary caregiver or not. We are honored to receive this recognition from Yale Law Women, as we continue to support our diverse workforce of hardworking, dedicated and talented attorneys.”
Each year, YLW, a student organization of Yale Law School, produces the Top Firms Report to raise awareness of inequities within the legal profession, highlight progress being made in the industry, and identify areas for improvement. The report is intended to serve as a tool for law firms, lawyers, and future lawyers to build more equitable workplaces.
“We are very happy that the firm's Diversity & Inclusion initiatives are making an impact internally and externally,” said Director of Diversity & Inclusion Rosa Nunez. “This recognition is an important step as we continue our efforts to foster a more diverse and inclusive workplace.”
YLW reviews and analyzes important family friendliness indicators by collecting data on a firm’s policies relating to professional development, gender equity, part-time and flex-time, parental/family leaves and accommodations, billing requirements and pro bono.
