Foley Hoag Advises Engie on Sale of 70 Sites in France

July 01, 2022

The Environmental Law team of Foley Hoag's Paris office has assisted the ENGIE Group on the environmental law aspects of the sale of a portfolio of 70 sites in mainland France to a trio of real estate developers: Icade Promotion, Brownfields and Aire Nouvelle.

The third-party applicant procedure (“poc├ędure du tiers demandeur”) was central to this transaction, as the land will have to be subject to a substitution order before being converted to accommodate mixed real estate programs. This agreement fully contributes to the objective of zero net artificialization (ZAN) of the territories concerned.

Foley Hoag attorneys Carine Le Roy-Gleizes and Pauline Leddet-Troadec represented Engie in this transaction.
