Foley Hoag Partners Paul Reichler and Kenneth Juan Figueroa Named to 2022 Latinvex Top 100 Lawyers in Arbitration & Litigation List

Foley Hoag LLP partners Paul Reichler and Kenneth Juan Figueroa were recognized among Latin America's top 100 lawyers in arbitration and litigation for 2022 by Latinvex, an online publisher of daily news and weekly analysis on Latin American business.

Each year, the editorial staff of Latinvex selects the top attorneys from international law firms that represent Latin American clients. The publication ranked both attorneys among the top lawyers in the Arbitration & Litigation category. 

Reichler has over three decades of experience representing Sovereign States in disputes with other States, and with foreign investors. Latinvex highlighted his service as counsel to Guyana in a case brought to confirm the international boundary between the two countries as determined by an arbitral award whose validity Venezuela has challenged, as well as his representation of Nicaragua in several cases, his victory for Uruguay against Philip Morris at the ICSID in 2016, and his recognition by Chambers Latin America 2022 for his Latin America-wide international arbitration work. 

Figueroa is Co-Chair of the firm’s Latin America practice. He has substantial experience in international arbitration matters, particularly in Latin America. His practice focuses on international disputes, particularly on investor-State matters, commercial arbitration, and sovereign representation. Latinvex emphasized his work representing Peru in several ICSID cases including lawsuits by APM Terminals Callao; Telef√≥nica and Quanta Services Netherlands, his representation of Perupetro in a lawsuit against Pluspetrol, and his representation of Panama in ICSID lawsuit related to the Panama Canal Expansion project.  

Latinvex recently recognized Foley Hoag as a top international law firm in Latin America. Its 2022 rankings placed the firm at fifth in Arbitration, and 16th overall.
