Foley Hoag Attorneys Across Offices Receive Recognitions for Dedication to Pro Bono

Foley Hoag LLP and a number of its attorneys were recently recognized for their dedication to pro bono work with recognitions by the 2022 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll and the New York State Bar Association’s Empire State Counsel® Program. 

The 2022 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll annual tribute recognized attorneys who provided services throughout the past year to D.C. residents who cannot afford counsel. Nineteen Foley Hoag attorneys were named to the
“High Honors” list for performing over 100 hours of pro bono work or “Honors” list for performing 50 or more.  
  • High Honors: Thomas Barker, Juan Pablo Hugues, Diem Huong Ho, Ross Margulies, John Marston, Rumbidzai Maweni, James Montgomery, Tafadzwa Pasipanodya, Katherine Peiffer, Adam Schilt, Gare Smith, and Alexander Somodevilla. 
  • Honors: Haider Andazola, Clara Brillembourg, Austin Ownbey, Gisela Paris, Siri Rao, Jose Rebolledo, and Isabella Uria. 
The New York State Bar Association’s Empire State Counsel® Program recently honored several attorneys from Foley Hoag’s New York office for performing 50 or more hours of pro bono legal services either through direct representation of a low-income/vulnerable individual or through donation of legal services to organizations that serve vulnerable and/or low-income populations. 
  • The attorneys recognized include: Clara Brillembourg, Christina Hioureas, and Shrutih Tewarie. 
The attorneys recognized worked on a variety of pro bono matters related to causes including domestic violence, LGBTQ rights, housing, environmental protection, disability rights, health care, prisoners’ rights, judicial independence, voting rights, immigration/political asylum, taxation, education/charter schools, and more.
