Foley Hoag Announces Hathaway Pease Russell as Managing Partner
July 29, 2024
Foley Hoag LLP recently announced the selection of Hathaway Pease Russell as Managing Partner. Russell is a senior partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Department, practicing in the Patent Prosecution group and Life Sciences industry team.
Russell provides strategic patent counseling to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, early-stage life science businesses, and academic institutions. Her practice involves developing and implementing intellectual property strategies to build strong global patent portfolios that protect and facilitate the commercialization of novel, transformative biopharmaceuticals. Russell was recognized last year among the “Top Women of Law” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.
"I'm excited to take on the Managing Partner role and lead Foley Hoag into an exciting next era of growth. Together we will build on our firm's strengths while charting a course where talent flourishes, innovation thrives, and our clients' success drives everything we do," said Russell.
Russell will work alongside current Managing Partner Jim Bucking as part of the firm’s five-member Executive Committee. The other three members, all newly elected in 2024, are Kevin Conroy, co-chair of Foley Hoag's State Attorney General group; Mark Haddad, co-chair of the Technology group; and Jeff Quillen, co-chair of the Life Sciences group.
“Hathaway is the perfect choice to lead our firm as it continues to expand and grow,” said Bucking. “She has been a strong voice on our Executive Committee over the past year, helping guide the firm with her strategic vision, toughness, and business acumen. We are fortunate to have Hathaway take on an expanded leadership role.”
