Foley Hoag Continues Life Sciences Patent Capability and PTAB Growth with Addition of Erin Foley as Counsel
May 09, 2024
Erin Foley has joined Foley Hoag LLP as Counsel in the Intellectual Property Department and as a member of the Patent Prosecution, Strategy & Management and PTAB Proceedings practices. She is resident in the firm’s Boston office.
Erin's practice focuses on devising and implementing global patent and exclusivity strategies, leading IP diligence for both target-side and buyer-side companies and providing patent support in partnership and licensing negotiations.
Erin devises and executes global intellectual property strategies for early-stage, mid-sized and commercial companies across life sciences sectors, including gene editing, gene therapy, viral vector engineering, RNA-based therapies, monoclonal antibodies, CAR-T therapies, stem cell therapies, vaccines, antimicrobial therapies, DNA sequencing, and food science.
Erin’s hiring bolsters the expanding life sciences and intellectual property offerings at the firm. She joins the top tier patent prosecution practice that is continuing to grow at Foley Hoag, including with the addition of partner Amy Baker Mandragouras and her team from Cooley in 2023.
"Erin’s arrival will bring additional scientific depth to our leading biotech practice," said Baker Mandragouras. "Her deep experience in global issues of product life-cycle management will be a key resource for our clients. She is an exceptional addition to the firm."
Prior to joining the firm, Erin was a Senior Patent Attorney at multinational pharmaceutical company Novartis AG. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of California Los Angeles; a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedical Sciences from University of California San Diego; and a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center.
