Erica Harrington advises bluetech, cleantech and renewable energy companies and investors on a wide range of corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, venture financings, project finance, general corporate formation and ongoing governance matters.

Erica’s practice focuses primarily on corporate transactions within the bluetech, cleantech, biotech and clean energy industries. Erica also mentors and advises startup companies through her work with local incubators and accelerator programs.  Erica is also an active member of the firm’s Energy & Climate practice.

During law school, Erica served as Editor-in-Chief of the Boston College Environmental Affairs Law Review and produced a symposium entitled “Who Will Pay: The Public & Private Insurance Implications of Climate Change’s Drastic Challenges,” which explored how public and/or private insurance industries might play a role in mitigating the costs associated with climate change-related losses.

  • Advised on the formation the Symbiosis Coalition, a new advance market commitment collaboration from leading technology companies including Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Salesforce aimed at supporting the development and growth of the nature-based carbon removal market
  • Vineyard Wind LLC in submitting its winning bid in Massachusetts’ 83C procurement to develop an 800MW offshore wind farm off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard
  • SeaAhead, a bluetech startup platform, in connection with ongoing corporate matters, and act as member of SeaAhead advisory board
  • Bluewave Solar in connection with solar project transactions, including construction and development financings and acquisitions
  • Soltage, LLC in connection with sponsor and tax equity solar project portfolio financings, including multiple acquisition transactions and a back leverage lending facility
  • Greenwood Energy in connection with a tax equity financing and back leverage lending facility for a multi-state portfolio of solar projects
  • Goldenset Capital Partners in connection with $50 million sponsor equity and simultaneous tax equity investments for a portfolio of Massachusetts solar projects

  • Aggreko Energy Transition Solutions – a division of Aggreko, a global leader in energy solutions – in its acquisition of Infiniti Energy, a premier U.S.-based commercial and industrial solar company, from Upper Bay Infrastructure Partners (Upper Bay)
  • Shift4 Payments (NYSE: FOUR) in connection with its acquisition of 3dcart 
  • Global cannabis operator Columbia Care Inc. (NEO: CCHW) (OTCQX: CCHWF) (FSE: 3LP) in its pending acquisition of The Green Solution (“TGS”), the largest vertically integrated cannabis operator in Colorado, through a transaction initially valued at approximately $140 million
  • LevelUp, a leader in mobile diner engagement and payment solutions for restaurants, in its $390 million sale to online and mobile food-ordering and delivery marketplace Grubhub Inc. (NYSE: GRUB)
  • Inovalon Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: INOV) in its $1.2 billion acquisition of ABILITY Network
