Jason’s practice focuses on matters at the intersection of U.S. litigation and foreign legal systems. He has deep experience with Section 1782 proceedings, the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, the Anti-Terrorism Act, the Torture Victim Protection Act, and the Alien Tort Statute. Jason has led significant human rights and national security cases in federal court, including matters involving attempted attacks on foreign officials, acts of terrorism against U.S. citizens, and alleged extrajudicial killings. Jason also handles high-stakes commercial disputes, including claims arising from allegations of fraud, breach of contract, and trade secret misappropriation, as well as shareholder and M&A disputes.
Jason has previously worked in the nonprofit sector, advancing global LGBTQ rights and assisting public housing residents in securing access to social services. He serves on the boards of directors of the Center for Justice and Accountability, a leading human rights organization, and Kinding Sindaw, a New York City-based Indigenous arts organization. He is also active in supporting the New York City Bar Association, including through participation in its Business and Human Rights Committee, and serves on the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Law Committee.
Jason previously clerked for the Honorable Myron H. Thompson of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.
