As a member of the Intellectual Property Department, Walker Knauss leverages his experience in synthetic organic chemistry to work with clients in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries to prosecute U.S. and foreign patents.

Walker completed his Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was advised by Professor Mohammad Movassaghi. Walker’s doctoral research focused on the total synthesis of epidithiodiketopiperazine natural products. As an undergraduate at Williams College, Walker conducted research under the guidance of Professor Tom Smith. For his undergraduate thesis, Walker worked towards the total synthesis of enigmazole A. Walker also spent time in the lab of Professor Jared Shaw at UC Davis preparing rhodium carbenes.
