I help develop and implement strategies to successfully grow and maintain the integrity of my clients’ global trademark portfolios.
Amy Kwan is responsible for the prosecution and maintenance of global trademark portfolios for clients in the technology, finance, pharmaceutical, consumer goods and charitable services industries. With over two decades of paralegal experience with the firm, Amy drafts and files legal documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and other governmental agencies, and liaises with foreign counsel. She conducts research and assists in the analysis and clearance of adopting potential trademarks for use in the marketplace and registration.
An integral part of Amy’s work includes brand protection. Amy monitors potential infringement of clients’ trademarks by third parties and assists in enforcement actions.
Although her focus is on trademark work, Amy also is involved in other aspects of the firm’s intellectual property practice. She prepares and files copyright applications and assignments with the U.S. Copyright Office, and performs due diligence in corporate transactions.
