Navigating the Financing Landscape for Biotechnology Companies
December 09, 2024
Foley Hoag partner Jeffrey Quillen spoke with Chemical & Engineering News about the challenging financing landscape for biotechnology companies in 2024. Jeff specifically shared that most middle-market companies have been operating in "survival mode" throughout the first three quarters of the year, and while the biotech sector continues to navigate difficult financial waters he sees potential opportunities on the horizon.
"There's a lot of high-quality companies that are really cash starved and struggling but have very good assets," he said. "Companies that can raise money or have money can probably go on a shopping spree. There's a decent chance that could happen in 2025."
