Foley Hoag LLP partner Paul Kim will speak at The BioCentury China Healthcare Summit 2014: The Bridge to Innovation, being held November 12-14, 2014 in Shanghai, China. This annual event brings together thought leaders and decision makers from Chinese and multinational companies to examine the necessary steps to creating a modern healthcare ecosystem in China that is built on a foundation of scientific, business and policy innovation.
Kim, who is a member of Foley Hoag's Federal Government Strategies and Medicare Coverage & Payment for New Technologies practices, will be featured on a panel entitled "Hallmarks of a Modern Healthcare Ecosystem." This international policy discussion will examine, among other things, the creation of the Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) and related legislation to support the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Kim will be joined by fellow panelists Joel Kupersmith, M.D., Former Head, Office of Research and Development, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; Zili Li, M.D., Senior Advisor, Research & Development, China, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; Edward Lin, M.D., Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Oncology, University of Washington School of Medicine; Vicki Seyfert-Margolis, Ph.D., CEO, My Own Med Inc. & former Senior Advisor For Science, U.S. FDA; and Gang Wang, Ph.D., Assistant Country Director, China, U.S. FDA.
