Foley Hoag Expands Trademark Practice in New York with Addition of Natasha Reed as Counsel

Natasha Reed has joined Foley Hoag LLP as a counsel in the Intellectual Property Department. She will be a member of the firm’s Trademark, Copyright and Unfair Competition and Advertising & Marketing practices, resident in Foley Hoag’s New York office.

Reed has helped owners of some of the world’s most recognized brands in the luxury goods, fashion, film, music, publishing and food and beverage industries with trademark and copyright needs. With a focus on protection for multinational businesses, she develops and manages domestic and worldwide trademark portfolios and represents clients in a range of disputes involving trademarks, trade dress, counterfeiting, false advertising, Internet and domain names, piracy, copyrights, licensing, breach of contract, and right of publicity.

"New York City is among the largest intellectual property markets in the world," said Foley Hoag Co-Managing Partner Adam Kahn. "The addition of Natasha to an already-established team of IP attorneys in our New York office will greatly benefit firm clients domestically and internationally."

Reed was recently a member of the International Trademark Association’s Anticounterfeiting Committee, where she worked on strategies to combat counterfeiting. She serves on the board of the Make the Grade Foundation, and is a past board member of Practicing Attorneys for Law Students (PALS). Reed earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College, and a law degree from Pepperdine University.

Reed comes to Foley Hoag from the New York office of Hughes Hubbard & Reed, where she served as counsel in the Intellectual Property Department.

"We are excited to welcome Natasha to the trademark team at Foley Hoag,” said Julia Huston, chair of the firm’s Trademark, Copyright and Unfair Competition practice group. “Natasha’s experience in anticounterfeiting and luxury brand work rounds out our capabilities very nicely, and she will continue to service clients across a variety of industries.”

Foley Hoag's New York office continues to experience strong growth since opening in May 2015. Prior to Reed's arrival, the firm most recently welcomed project finance attorney Prem Malali as a partner in the Business Department and a member of the Energy & Cleantech group.
