February 06, 2019

The international publication World Trademark Review (WTR) has included Foley Hoag among the top trademark law firms, and commended three of its attorneys for their expertise in trademark matters.

WTR 1000 – The World's Leading Trademark Professionals recommends individual practitioners and their firms exclusively in the trademark field, and identifies the leading players in 70 key jurisdictions globally. This year’s rankings placed Foley Hoag in the silver category within the United States-Massachusetts jurisdiction.

The WTR’s annual assessment identifies Foley Hoag’s Boston and New York trademark teams as “well integrated, enabling the firm to provide stellar IP support on the eastern seaboard. The trademark team nurtures brands from their conception, infusing value along the way.”  It also indicates the firm “meets all requests and offers excellent client service.”

Partner Julia Huston, co-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department, ranked in the gold category in Massachusetts for enforcement and litigation and for prosecution and strategy. She also received a United States: National ranking in the silver category for enforcement and litigation. Partner Joshua Jarvis ranked in the bronze category in prosecution and strategy in Massachusetts, and counsel Natasha Reed ranked in the bronze category in enforcement and litigation in New York.

The review recognized Huston as a "seasoned veteran” with “a profound understanding of trademark law.” Jarvis was cited as "handling large portfolios with poise.”  Both Huston and Jarvis were acknowledged as being “up to speed with the latest market trends” and “an excellent resource for those with social media and domain name issues.”

The review also noted that Reed "perfectly understands her clients’ business needs and values their time and money. Flexible and proactive, she gives practical advice and does a great job in prosecution.”
