has named Foley Hoag LLP partner Erica Rice and international associate Ofilio Mayorga to the publication’s 2021 list of Rising Stars. Rice was selected in the Cannabis category, and Mayorga was selected in the International Arbitration category.
The annual award recognizes emerging legal industry leaders who have reached a significant level of achievement before the age of 40. Winners are chosen based on their career accomplishments in their respective practice areas. According to Law360
, its Rising Stars program "highlights attorneys under the age of 40 whose legal accomplishments transcend their age."
This year’s winners were selected from over 1,400 candidates put forth by more than 80 law firms in 38 practice areas. Law360 evaluates the submissions based on the work of an attorney over the course of his or her career.
At Foley Hoag, Rice is a partner in the Business department and co-chair of the firm’s Cannabis Practice Group. She is focused on representing buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions and other strategic transactions, as well as counseling early and mid-stage companies regarding entity formation, founder’s arrangements, financings, exit strategies and general corporate governance.
Mayorga is a member of Foley Hoag's International Litigation & Arbitration practice. He focuses his practice on public international law litigation before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), investment treaty arbitration and international commercial arbitration.
