Foley Hoag LLP represented Concerto Biosciences (“Concerto”), a biotechnology company designing microbial communities that restore deficient microbiomes to treat disease, in a $23 million Series A
funding round. Concerto will use the investment to advance its first product through first-in-human studies, accelerate its discovery platform, and leverage the platform to expand its line of products in partnership with other companies.
Concerto rebuilds microbial communities to heal bodies and the planet. Products that rebuild microbial communities do not yet exist because no one can map the vast inter-species interaction networks responsible for community behavior. Concerto aims to become the premier inventor of ensembles—combinations of microbes that work in concert to shepherd damaged microbial communities to health—across medicine and agriculture, reinventing humanity’s relationship with microbes.
Foley Hoag attorneys Mark Haddad, Tiana Walden and Lexi Stacy represented Concerto in the funding round.
