Matt Casassa represents businesses, individuals, and sovereign states in federal and state courts and before administrative bodies. He has represented clients in the United States Supreme Court and numerous federal courts of appeals, and has authored dozens of briefs on topics as diverse as elimination of federal grant programs, vacatur of foreign arbitral awards, and enforcement of executive non-competition agreements.
In addition to his appellate and critical-motions work, Matt regularly represents businesses and municipalities in government-facing regulatory litigation and sovereign states in a range of matters in U.S. courts.
Before rejoining Foley Hoag, Matt served as a law clerk to the Honorable Seth R. Aframe of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the Honorable Nathaniel M. Gorton of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
