I transform complex energy storage deals into structures that financing providers and investment committees approve.
Seb Villaveces is a partner in Foley Hoag’s Energy & Climate Group who advises clients on transactional aspects of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and solar projects, including off take, procurement, construction, and financing agreements.
Seb brings a unique perspective to advising his clients, shaped by over fifteen years of roles both in private practice and in-house. Most recently, he served as Chief Legal and People Officer for Convergent Energy and Power, where he led a cross-functional organization supporting the origination, development, construction, ownership and operation of energy storage projects across North America.
Sebastián’s experience also includes advising sponsors, developers and energy companies on structured financings, infrastructure and energy M&A, project development and commercial transactions in the United States and across the Americas.
He received his LL.M. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and law degree from Universidad de los Andes in his native Colombia.
