Foley Hoag LLP represented RTP Ventures as lead investor in the $13 million Series C financing of Zerto, a disaster recovery company focused on virtualized data centers. Murat Bicer, managing director of RTP Ventures, will join the company’s board of directors.
RTP Ventures is a $120M early-stage Venture Capital fund closely associated with ru-Net Holdings, one of the largest internet and technology investors in Russia. Led by a team of seasoned entrepreneurs and investment professionals, RTP actively invests in innovative companies throughout the United States with a focus on cloud computing, software as a service (SaaS) and enterprise infrastructure. The investment in Zerto will allow the company to further accelerate its go-to-market strategy for its award-winning hypervisor-based replication solution for enterprises and cloud service providers. Zerto will also continue to expand its development and cloud product teams, as well as its sales and marketing operations, to serve its rapidly growing enterprise customer base.
Foley Hoag Partner Mark Haddad led team that advised RTP Ventures on the transaction, with assistance from Jonathan Romiti. The investment was supported by existing investors Battery Ventures, Greylock and U.S. Venture Partners.
