Foley Hoag LLP has teamed up with business-to-business marketplace mosaicHUB to offer a series of events aimed at helping women entrepreneurs launch successful start-up companies.
The “Women in Entrepreneurship Series” kicks off on March 11 with a panel discussion and networking event called “Funding Your Startup.” It will feature three of Boston’s top female entrepreneurs: Mary-Alice Miller, founder of mosaicHUB; Sarah Biller, president of investment analytics platform company Capital Markets Exchange; and Dr. Catherine Havasi, CEO and co-founder of advanced text analytics company Luminoso.
“We are excited to be bringing together women entrepreneurs, experts and successful professionals to share advice and support through a series of events,” Miller said. “We want to create an ongoing support system that will help accelerate the launch and growth of more female-led startups.”
The speakers will describe how they turned small resources and big desire into successful companies in healthcare, technology, professional and financial services. Foley Hoag partner Meredith Haviland, who specializes in advising investors and emerging companies, will moderate the panel.
“One of the best paths to the top of a technology company is to found your own. We wanted to further the progress that women are making in launching start-ups by offering advice from peers who have navigated all the traps and pitfalls and come out successful,” said Haviland.
Foley Hoag is one of Boston’s preeminent technology law firms and a major supporter of entrepreneurship initiatives in the city’s Innovation District and beyond. It runs its own entrepreneurs meet-up series, TEC@FoleyHoag.
