February 24, 2022

Foley Hoag LLP represented Shift5, the OT cybersecurity company that defends military platforms and critical transportation systems from cyberattacks, in raising $50 million in a Series B round led by Insight Partners. The funds will be used to make significant investments in product development and new talent to protect against increasing cyber-physical threats against planes, trains, and weapon systems.

Shift5 was created by founding members of the U.S. Army Cyber Command who pioneered modern weapons system cyber assessments. The company defends military platforms and commercial transportation systems against malicious actors and operational failures. Customers rely on Shift5 to detect threats and maintain the resilience of a wide variety of operational technology systems, including aviation, rail and metro, defense, helicopters, and other heavy fleet machinery.

Foley Hoag attorneys Colin Kirby, Tiana Walden, Alexandra Bender and Danyelle Everett-O’Neill represented Shift5 in the funding round.
